Tamborine Mtn & Canungra Yellow Cabs

I work on Tamborine Mountain at an adventure tourism company. We often have excited travellers able to uber their way up which is great, however when they try and find transport off the mountain, they run into endless cancellations from uber as it is too far for the driver and the risk is never worth it. Shuttle services are unavailable at such short notice and need to be booked prior. We have found this one taxi service is the only one that has not cancelled on our guests and is super reliable. It is more expensive than uber, but the reliability of being able to get off the mountain makes it worth it.

Booked a cab from Beaudesert to Moorooka, the driver was called Rajpal,the fare was around $150.00, that didn’t bother me, when I went to get in the cab, I was holding a light, he told me to put it in the boot, didn’t really need to , but I did as he asked.

As we neared my destination , I said to Rajpal, rather than use my personal eftpos card, I’ll use my business one, it was in my car parked at the destination, .

He parked in my driveway near my car, I got out , and went to the boot to get my light, only to have him tell me , that I had to go and get my eftpos card and pay him , before he would release the locked boot lid, so he could use my light as ransom.

I’m not in the habbit, of not paying fares to drivers, and although some people do, I was disgusted at his attitude and the fact he wouldn’t release my property.

As it happens I payed the fare as i agreed , and the unpleasant situation need not of occurred

We booked a cab, had it confirmed and they cancelled 30 minutes before the pick up time.



Not ok

Two women on a girls trip. Booked taxi.

Rang taxi company after 20 minutes of waiting.

Operator advised that there were two taxis that cancelled trip. We have been waiting with phone in hand. No taxi arrived. This left two women at 9pm in a town without transport to their accomodation.

Irresponsible service that places people at risk.

No taxi showed and we were required to ask a stranger for a lift to our accomodation.

We booked a cab for our adult son, who has a visual impairment and can't drive, as we were away for our wedding anniversary, while we were out of mobile reception they canceled the pickup 20 minutes after the planned pickup time and did not reschedule as we did not respond to message. Spoke to the call centre supervisor who was less than helpful. We had to cancel our plans and pick him up 2.5 hours later to take him home. Can see why people use alternatives.

My partner and I booked a yellow cab to shuttle our wedding guests a 5 km trip to and from their accomodation and our wedding venue in the Canungra valley. The trip to the venue went as planned and the driver received 3 fares, but the trip home did not go as planned as a couple of elderly guests decided to leave early. I was confronted as I left my wedding by Kevin, the cab driver, and asked about where these guests were. I politely apologised that he would only receive 1 fare as these guests had left early, and was aggressively told that I ‘should be thankful it was my wedding night...’

I am sorry to Kevin that I he only received 1 fare, but if this is an issue then rather than aggressively speaking to a bride as she leaves her own wedding and wrecking her moment, why not structure your fees to account for this to begin with?

Kevin also spent the whole trip to the venue complaining to our guests that it wasn't worth his time to be there for these trips, making them feel extremely uncomfortable.

Kevin was an embarrassment to Yellow Cabs as a service and I would advise people to use private transport in this area if possible.

We booked a cab for a specified time hours before an event so we wouldn't be late. The cab was late! Wouldn't count on their punctuality if you have to get somewhere on time
