Outside Home Improvements

Obtained work in June 2023. Job approx 12m x 3m merbau deck. I was connected to Graham who owns Outside Home Improvements via a third party business who holds particular business names that are most frequently searched on google. Cant recall what I searched on google but it led to a website eg Wollongong Decking or something similar with the phone number diverting to his phone.



Upon answer Graham is incredibly engaging and communicative. I was abit doubtful of the business itself from his charm, the distance he would be required to cover being a suburb near Ulladulla to suburb near Dapto, some previously posted bad reviews of the business whether true or not, the third party business name system that redirected to his business (maybe its the nature of the beast with smart IT people creating and owning business names/ website domains that effectively are an automatic conduit to smaller businesses like Graham’s that would otherwise not get the high exposure/ work generated from internet searches).

From meeting him I can say his charm and personality is real, he is a fully qualified Master Builder, has registration within the Master Builders Association, and appears to be apart of the committee of the Shoalhaven Master Builders Association. So in effect that covered the legitimacy of the business and allayed my concerns.

Communication was thorough, involved contracts, and price was competitive. It was a well oiled machine which is expected with his experience and professional associations.

In relation to the work I believe his team did the work correctly. I made a point each afternoon after they left to measure spans, wood widths, etc etc and referred back to the Building Code. Everything was to standard, on time, and I could see the passion some of the team had around perfection.

Such a shame - seemed like a nice bloke.

Exact same thing happened to my parents. Promised the work would be completed in January, and only got completed last week and we are now in September. Fair work was called, then things started to happen, albeit slowly. Graham is absolutely useless and the carpentry standard was the equivalent to what my 10 year old nephew has done in the backyard with a couple of sticks from the gum tree. I strongly advise anyone thinking if using this pretender to move onto the next bloke. I have no idea how this halfwit does his shoe laces up in the morning. It's a pity you can't award no stars or negative stars in the rating, so i'll have to settle for 1.
