My wife and I would like to thank Darren and his team for a job exceedingly done at our two-story home in Carindale.



We were impressed with Darren’s professionalism and his can-do attitude right on the first day when he came to do the quotations. The quotes were great value for money and far above the best prices among other competitive quotations. Our intention was to do the painting downstairs first, and only if that was done well, we would proceed with the same painter upstairs a month or two later. Darren innovatively suggested to do both upstairs and downstairs for even better prices, while resource availability and weather still permit before the end-of-year closing is approaching. He even suggested a better colour scheme than what we thought would be, with the best paint quality for the job. … And the rest was history …



Two weeks later, our house received a beautiful, perfect fresh new look that would last us many years into the future. This work was possible due to the best management and technical work by the most professional team Darren could put together. Between the three-man team, they share over 60 years of experience with all types of painting one can call for. They have consistently reported to work, not just timely, but even between 15 to 30 minutes before the 7am start time. Not only being hard and focused workers, they were very friendly and responded promptly to every needs of ours that arose during the course of the two weeks. For example, four of the doors were also painted at no cost for us, even though their outside facing sides were not part of the quotations.



Darren, Sean, Calib, you guys are the best painter team individually and collectively that we have ever come across in all of the paint jobs for our two houses in the last 60 years. Darren’s wife Brigitte provides support for Darren’s activities from an administration perspective. She has always been very courteous and responsive to all email communications from us. Darren pained the interior of my home, he was very professional and accommodating. He is very good at his craft, because he did such a good job on the interior he then did the outside.

I had other trade work required and once that was finished he came back and did all the touch ups. I enjoyed engaging with him and would use his services again.

Responded quickly and were very helpful throughout the whole process. Very happy with the colours and results.

A nightmare from start to finish. We ended up complaining to the Queensland Building Commission and he was CENSURED for the terrible work on my house.



The Commission found that his work was NOT that "expected of a competent holder of a contractor's license" because:

1. Surfaces were not prepared correctly and now the paint is blistering and delaminating.

2. There were paint overruns on window frames, services affixed to the dwelling (windows, doors, screens), gate and fence frames.



The Commission issued him with Directives to Rectify the work, but he failed to do so.



He can't deny it now. It's on the public record.



This is in addition to the damage he caused to my property, that he used a much cheaper paint than the one he quoted, etc, etc.

I requested a quote through OneFlare and DARREN TURNERS PAINTING SERVICE replied advising they'd like to do a site inspection to provide a quote. I spoke with Bridgette. She advised they would come out on Saturday to do the inspection, however she'd have to call me on Friday night to confirm a time (because apparently Thursday was too far out?).

I did not receive a call on Friday.

Instead I received a call at 7:30am on Saturday morning advising they wanted to attend at 11am.

We had already received several other quotes, so I advised this to Bridgette and said they don't need to waste their time doing a quote as there are many other companies available to do the work, they can save their time.

Bridgette immediately became very angry and said "do you know how OneFlare works? We have to pay to get this lead so you've cost us money for nothing. Do you understand this?"

I advised Bridgette in light of this, feel free to come out and give me a quote if you like... her attitude changed and she replied with a thanks we'll see you tomorrow.

They did the inspection on Saturday and I have not received a quote back from them yet. I tried calling their office twice today and left voicemail messages, without receiving any response.

4 days is ample time to provide a quote, to which every other painter was able to do on the spot.

Therefore I declined their services on OneFlare and have just received this text message at 9:30pm.

"Evening we see on Oneflare that we were not selected for your job. Thank you for wasting 2 hours of our Saturday maybe you should be more considerate to tradies. We paid for a lead that was wasted. Regards Darren Turners Painting Service"



I have tried calling them in regards to this and they are not answering their phone.
