I had my clutch start to slip after a trip towing my caravan I visited S&J Automotive Repairs with my Landcruiser and I had them replace it with a heavy duty clutch and I was back on the road in a flash, now that was 3 years ago and I have been using them ever since for my regular servicing and repairs. I even had them replace my tyres this service at a competitive price. I would recommend this workshop to anyone.

Unprofessional, unfair and very rude. Do not get your vehicle examined here

Fast turnaround on a booked vehicle inspection but the car was failed due to a missing rear centre headrest. I was able to locate one nearby luckily and the car was released. No other issues.

I had my 2006 Toyota Hilux in for a vehicle inspection to get one of my cars re-licensed. They are an approved examination centre for the Department of Transport so I dropped the car off in the morning and left it with them to complete the inspection. I received a call later that day from the lady at reception and was told the car was ready. I went and collected the car and brought it back to my dealership. Then I noticed the car had failed. I was a bit confused because at no point was I told the car had failed. I was even more frustrated when I read on the form that it failed for 2 very minor defects. I then called the office and asked firstly why wasn't I told the car had failed and secondly why couldn't these minor defects be rectified there and then. There excuse was it would have been a conflict of interest. I am a licensed dealership and have never had any vehicle fail for such minor defects, the two defects were:
Missing two covers on the positive battery terminal for the aftermarket TJM dual battery system and,
Two white adhesive reflectors stuck on the back of the tow bar
What makes it more frustrating is that these could of been fixed within 5 minutes. It would of taken someone with half a brain how to remove the two reflectors of the tow bar and throw them in the bin or even get a black spray can and paint them black and with the 2 covers on the terminals, they could have been easily been fitted. Over the years I have presented hundreds of vehicles for an inspection and have never experienced a car to fail for these minor defects. I would have expected some leniency. I've had vehicles with blown globes and dark window tint and the inspector has allowed me to fix the issue there and then so the car can pass and be roadworthy. The next day I had to go to another licensed inspection station and get it passed costing me an extra $63. Even they said it was ridiculous and that car should have passed the first time. Avoid them and save your money.
I have asked to be reimbursed my $63 that I had to pay for the re-inspection, lets see what happens there.
Hopefully they don't do this to anyone else in the future and use some common sense.
