Roof Buddy

Roof Buddy was commissioned to restore 2 story dwelling which I had water issues in roof however Roof Buddy made my original problem worse.

Below is a report completed after Roof Buddy completed the job.



Roof has been re- pointed and changed fascia at front entrance from having soakers to mortar finish. In doing this bottom, valleys have been exposed and need to be lead flashed, bottom also has a grinder mark through.

Fascia was removed by Roof Buddy but they never cleaned up the job. They left exposed Valley. See photo of water flowing back into roof - photo taken on 18th July.



Roof has approx. 40 - 50 broken tiles. There is some silicone and one at front under ridge capping which has flexible mortar applied. (These tiles will be leaking) - Roof Buddy never picked up these broken tiles and silicone the tiles instead of replacing. Silicone should never be used on roof tiles as it blocks water flow.



Valleys have been bed and repointed over existing mortar, all valleys are over mortared and blocking flow of water creating water to flow down back side of valley. - All existing mortar was never removed but repointed over the top of existing mortar. When repointed water flow areas was blocked causing water to flow into ceiling. (please see photo attached)



Roof needs new flashing to lower roof tiles area, Valley mortar removed as to conform Dry Valley system, Silicone cut out and or tiles removed and replaced. Lead flashing at gable and valley junction over entrance. All broken tiles removed and mortar repaired where needed, weep holes drilled into top ridge under tile capping - Lead flashing needed to be removed and re store with new - Roof Buddy only silicone existing old lead flashing.



Roof Buddy has made the problem worse. When contacted to look into the issue after job was completed as I had a 10 year guarantee. Owner Simon of roof buddy became aggressive on my property and refused any fault and refused to fix the problem.

The 10 Year guarantee in non and void. I am left with a larger problem.

The police is now involved in regards to aggressive behaviour.



In summary - Do not commission Roof Buddy to do any maintenance on your property they will charge you thousands of $$ to make your issue worse.
