Anglicanism was shaped in England from the third century and spread to Australia with the European settlers in the 18th century. The Church of England in Australia, as it was formerly known, gained autonomy in 1962 and its name was changed in 1981 to The Anglican Church in Australia.
The Church consists of 23 Dioceses across Australia, led by a Diocesan Bishop supported by a team of clergy and lay people. Prayer and worship happens in parishes – and these range from large metropolitan congregations to small remote communities who come together to live the faith. If you are in a vulnerable position in life or going through a hard time then I very strongly suggest you avoid this place like the plague. God is not present here. You will however find a bunch of over-inflated egos and people so self-righteous that they think they’re warranted in dragging other peoples’ lives through the wringer in a misguided attempt to keep them in line. It is one of the biggest regrets of my life that I ever set foot in this place. Some of THE worst human behaviour I have ever encountered has come from the holier than thou people in his place. I don’t have words adequate enough to describe the pain they caused me.
