Masterton Homes

Building a house with Masterton has been the worst experience of my life. I put a deposit down 2 years ago and I'm still waiting for a satisfactory completion of building. I have been asking for an occupation certificate since September 2015 and have received one phone call stating that the person didn't know I didn't have one despite it being a legal obligation to provide one in a timely manner and she would immediately chase it up. I still haven't heard anything from them. They are very poor communicators and make you feel like your being ignored. They put the wrong doors on and damaged frames and have not made any effort to fix them. Paint is coming off the laundry window frames and large areas of the pantry door have not been sanded and painted. I have several pages of defects that I won't bore you with at the moment. The worst part is they elevated the foundation of the house on my land but didn't elevate the fence. The back yard is a construction nightmare with ineffective draining and they have left beyond a hazardous step slope for me to deal with. My dog can jump over the fence that they have built and the fence does not provide adequate privacy. Their represent told me they had contacted the developer to see if they could raise the fence however the developer denied the request. I contacted the developer directly and they said they had not received a request from Masterton. I believe Masterton homes are only interested in taking your money and not providing a satisfactory product or service. If I was build again I would not employ Masterton homes.
