the customer service at this place is just awful, the staff leave you feeling very unwelcome and uncomfortable.
i've been here once before to have some dry cleaning done and was treated quite rudely by the asian lady at the counter but i thought it was just a one-time thing, so i went back a few weeks later to do my laundry using their self service machines. this was an incredibly bad idea, as i soon realised.
firstly, the presentation of this place is AWFUL! yes, i know it's just a laundromat and not a five star hotel, but its like they don't even make any effort to make it look presentable. and the lady at the counter was just making herself at home with her feet up on the desk! I got my laundry out and went to go operate the machine, and the male owner came over to check what i had with me to wash and sort of inspect my basket (god forbid if i had lingerie or something in my washing basket), and to ask if i had been here before, to which i said yes as i had been there for dry cleaning before. i made a mistake by putting the coins in the wrong slot (there are two slots for the dryer and the washing machine and i got them mixed up because there's no sign to say which is which). the lady at the counter was NOT happy about this!! i apologised a few times because it was my mistake and she just grunted in response, told the owner what had happened and he goes "well i asked her if she had been here before.." (so basically talking about me as if i wasn't there?? great customer service skills!). i was a bit upset by this, and then while the lady was fixing my mistake she just kicked my washing basket out of the way instead of just....asking me to move it like any polite employee would?
anyway, after that first awful experience i really just wanted my washing to be done so i could get out of there. i noticed that the owner was always creepily staring over at me while i was waiting which made me a bit uncomfortable, so i was relieved when another customer walked in the store so he could creepily stare at her instead (and he did...i noticed he stared at her for a good couple of minutes and it was very uncomfortable to watch).
at one point, the lady at the counter said something which i couldn't hear properly to which the owner replied "what are you swearing for, there's customers in here!" i feel like it's just common sense to not swear around customers but apparently to these people, good customer service is a bit like rocket science.
like how hard is it to have good manners around the people that keep your business running?
i really wouldn't recommend going here. like i would rather walk around in dirty old clothing for the rest of my life then ever do my laundry again at this place. actually, there was one positive that came out of this experience - it really just convinced me to finally buy a washing machine.
