Now here's a surprise, outer Melbourne actually has a really good little family run amusement park. It is not overly expensive, and the bonus is once you have paid the entry your rides are unlimited.

There are go karts, mini golf, carnie rides, and the real hero of the park- a 400m stainless steel luge track contoured down the hillside. There are also plenty of water rides. We were there on a busy, hot day and the lines weren't overly bad. I did wonder what a cold day might do to the lines on the non-water based rides though...

Good value, good fun and five hours was gone in a flash.
