Tane Furniture Repair & Restoration

We have worked closely with Gary over the last couple of years, restoring various mid-century pieces of furniture for our clients and upholstering them with locally & ethically produced fabrics. The results are gorgeous. We also love Gary's original pieces such as the Groove lamp - innovative, sustainable & supportive of the local manufacturing industry.

Gary did a brilliant job restoring and reupholstering furniture for us and i couldnt recommend him highly enough.

We had a well loved teak dining table and 6 chairs handed down from my grandmother. 2 chairs were broken and the table was wobbly. Gary reglued, sanded and polished all the pieces and repaired the chairs when others had failed.

He also reupholstered a chair for us in fabric printed in the nearby ink and spindle studio. This chair, previously hidden in our spare room, now has pride of place in the lounge.

Gary was fantastic to deal with. He was able to quote on pictures of the furniture we emailed. The furniture was ready quickly and he did a fantastic job.

Having found Tane Furniture on google, I entrusted my Scandinavian retro furniture to them!

Gary was friendly and flexible and did a great job restoring my table and chairs to their former glory. In fact, then they came back to me I hardly recognised them they looked so good with the beautiful grain of the wood nicely showcased again.

He also oversaw the reupholstering of old 'granny chains' and did a fab job of tidying up their 'under-carriage' (;-)!

Gary fixed a much loved leather chair. He also fixed one of my monastery prayer chairs. He did a great job. The price was reasonable, and I had my chairs returned in a couple of weeks looking better than ever. the shop was local and close to home. My neighbour would like some chairs re-upholstered, and i recommended Gary.
