Review for Bowen Smash Repairs Windsor – Very Disappointing Experience



My car was involved in an accident (at fault), and my insurance company referred me to Bowen Smash Repairs in Windsor. Unfortunately, my experience with them was extremely disappointing and frustrating from start to finish.



When I first arrived to drop off my car, I was surprised to see that the receptionist also acted as the damage assessor, despite clearly lacking proper mechanical knowledge or repair experience. She seemed more interested in getting me to agree with her opinion than actually listening to my concerns. When I refused to just say "yes" to everything she said, she went inside and eventually sent out a real mechanic. He told me they would assess and repair the car and that it would take about 2 weeks. In reality, it took over 3 weeks.



During that time, I had to call them every single day for updates. They never once called me to inform me of any progress. Every time I called, I was told the same thing: "The car is in quality inspection." It became very clear that communication is not a priority for them.



When I finally went to pick up my car, it was parked outside on the street—completely covered in mud. The interior was dirty, and they didn’t even bother to clean it before handing it back. When I asked them to wash it, I was told they were “too busy.” Not acceptable.



To make things worse, someone during their so-called “quality control” process had taken the time to disconnect my dashcam wiring, but didn’t bother to reconnect it. It’s clear where their priorities lie.



A few days after getting the car back, my wife noticed a strange noise coming from the front. Today, I finally had time to check and discovered that the windshield washer bottle was broken and leaking water all over the garage floor. Clearly, this should have been picked up during their "inspection"—but wasn’t.



I’m now being referred to another smash repairer to see if they can fix the poor work done by Bowen.



In summary:



Poor customer service



Zero communication



Dirty car inside and out on return



Incomplete and careless repairs



Poor quality control



Overcharging insurance for sub-par service





If you're ever referred to Bowen Smash Repairs in Windsor—think twice, or even three times. Avoid them at all costs. Your car, your time, and your peace of mind deserve better.

i have just had my holden trax door repair by this company. i cannot say how good my experience was. from the first contact and booking into , to the solving of a problem delivery date. the company is excellent, the work was excellent and the customer service was exceptional. all round a great company. no wonder they have been in business for so long. thank you

Had my car repaired there twice through NRMA I wouldn't recommend them , poor quality repairs , my car was returned with a screw in the tyre , the boot had been looked through the first time and the second time only half of the repairs were done , cracked fibreglass side skirt was "repaired" with paint and a touch-up brush
