After having my car at a nearby Mechanic twice with no resolution to my issue I was recommended to try Prahran Auto.
From the get go David and Tony kept me up to date and thanks to their knowledge and fault finding skills were able to resolve all the issues with my Ford.
After being in the area for 2 years I was yet to find a reliable mechanical until now.
I won’t be going anywhere but here in the future.

Very disappointed. Various issues including that the problem I went there for they didn't fix / had to fix elsewhere. At the very least they could train someone in customer communication / service

I decided to go to Prahran Auto Service Centre based on the relatively high reviews. DO NOT make the mistake I did. They quoted me 30-60 minutes of work to hard-wire my dashcam. Called me back saying they may need another 60 minutes to make a bracket to secure the battery pack under the drivers seat - no worries.
I ended up having to call them to find out the status of the job. They told me they needed me to come in and help them put the cameras in the correct place. I spent about 30 minutes of my time doing that - again no worries.
After I pay and get home I come to find they have done an absolute home job. They didn't make a bracket for my battery, instead putting HOLES in my carpet and running a zip tie through to secure it. Which is ripping and pulling up my carpet. They also set the battery to LOW instead of HIGH (this is the amount of pull it will have on the car battery, if it is hard-wired which it is, it should be on high). If I didn't notice this and change it my self my the dash cam would take about 40% longer to charge to full capacity, shortening the length of my parking mode.
They wired the battery into the side of the door showing exposed cables instead of following the instructions/common sense and going up the center console. It looks absolutely shocking. Then instead of wiring around the rear dash camera past the front camera around anti clockwise they loop it back around clockwise, causing the cable to kink when it's plugged in.
They also didn't fit the headliner back in properly and kept the ply tool and an instruction manual for the battery (both of which are needed for me to fix their horrible work). These issues aren't a big deal on their own, but are perfect examples of the quality of work they do. They do not respect their customers, their cars or their property.
I went in this morning to resolve this issue and they stood by their work and refused to refund me. They offered to replace the cable tie with a bracket, only after explaining for 2 minutes why the bracket is a bad idea and could cause rust damage (then why did you suggest it and get me to pay for your time mucking around making it?).
Pretty much told me to get stuffed and call VCAT and that they don't care. The guy who worked on my car was even laughing about it. The funny thing is I could continue about the poor placement of the battery, the fact they left the interior of my car dirty and fingerprints on the inside front window and rear-view mirror.
When I go somewhere to get something done, I don't expect much and I don't mind paying for good work. I just expect my car to be how I left it (within reason) and the job to be done properly. Instead my car was left worse off and I was given a complete mess of a job that will need to be redone.
Do yourself a favor and don't end up like me - $260 out of pocket, with a home job installation that will need to be redone, and damage to my vehicle. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Just had an execptional experience at this garage. The level of service I received was amazing and I will tell all my friends and family to come here. I had broken down and left my car round the corner as they where closed, and let the key in their letterbox. The next day they called me at 8:30 to say they went to retrieve my car safe, and that they are working on it straight away! A few hours later they call to say it's all done! Couldn't believe it. So happy and will forever use them again and again. The guys there are lovely and even talked me through what that had done. Thanks again :-)
