Plumbing Detectives

This company is a joke.

They sent a plumber in to change my hot water system on November 16th. Firstly the guy ordered a smaller tank, were I not there when the delivery truck arrived I would have had nearly 70L less of hot water. Then that solved, he said the old system would be picked up in two days. He left it on the front lawn, I travelled that week. On my return the old hot water system was there and my lawn nearly dead. i phoned and talked to about 5 different people. They all said they would instruct the truck driver to pick up the hold hot water system over the next day or so. After two weeks and 5 phone calls, I got so annoyed that I rang the manager, Trent. He said now that I have spoken to him the problem would be solve and when I arrived home Friday morning he guarantee the old system would have been removed. It is Friday afternoon, nothing happened. I rang them again, but I am getting no where. Never use these guys again. They are not to be trusted and their sense of customer service is simply atrocious.

The plumber was nice enough when he came even though we didn't use him for the job as the cost was a complete rort/joke. The overall company should be avoided. Leaks that impact our homes and driveways have an emotional component hence can be stressful.

My experience -
I called on a Saturday to request if the company that states 'emergency service for plumbing' on their website would come out and fix my driveway leak. They said it was not an emergency and would come Tuesday morning. They said it would be fixed on Tuesday. I was ok with this as at least I had certainty that my leak costing me a lot of water each day would be fixed.

Tuesday afternoon the guy turns up to quote for the leak detection (NOT the leak fix). He then says the leak detection will be booked in for Thursday afternoon at 3pm. He demands a deposit and my wife paid as we really needed the leak fixing.

I call the company the same day and argue with the phone operators stating that I expected it to be fixed today, not just a quote (They told me it would be fixed when I made the original appointment the previous Saturday). They said that is when the detection equipment is available. I state I want the first appointment on the Thursday not the 3pm appointment as there is no way the team will fix my leak on the Thursday if they start detection at 3pm. I am again assured that it will be fixed on the Thursday. The tone of the two separate ladies I spoke to was rude and dismissive. I would say unprofessional and uncaring.

So yesterday at 3:30 the detection guy turned up and it turns out he is sub contracted (does not work for the plumbing detectives) which explains why I had to wait for his availability (not the equipment). I then realise I am also paying a premium for the detection as there is a 3rd party involved. SO the detection is done and they advise they can fix it next week. My wife argues the point and they finally say they can do it on Saturday. The quote price was >$2500

Keep away from this company!! They take advantage of people in urgent situations. Waited until they had poured raw sewage all over the place to give us a price of $9642 to replace approx 2mtrs of pipe. I have received no quote, receipt or compliance cert for this let alone the guarantee they offered. Left the filthy sewerage pipe in our backyard as well. When we called to ask them to clean it they said they couldn't come for 2 days. When we told them we had called Sydney Water the plumber who came said that Sydney Water didn't know anything that it is completely acceptable to leave raw sewage on the ground, that it will dissipate. When I called this company to ask for the paperwork they keep telling me they sent it. I have never received it. Since I have been leaving reviews they have called me to try and "resolve" it and asked me to retract my reviews. Then a person called "Mick" called me and abused and threatened me and told me I am not a plumber so I don't know anything and he can charge whatever he likes. These people operate via a fridge magnet left in letterboxes, please never use these people.

Best experience I've ever had with these plumbers!!!
Called a couple of companies to check out my plumbing problem but the plumbing detectives had the best service and most reasonable deals so i got them to come check an issue I had in my house and the lady on the phone was very polite and patient with advising me on what to do until the plumber could arrive and she was extremely helpful answering and ll the questions I had.
The plumber called to reassure me what time he would be at my house and made sure that he wasn't a minute late, when he arrived he was very respectful due to my wife and kids at home and asked politely if he could enter the house and offered to take his shoes off. He was extremely friendly and assured me it wasn't a big thing to be worrying about and was able to fix the problem in less then an hour at a really good price. Couldn't of been happier with any other company !highly recommend

These guys are cheap and honest. Highly recommend them. I just wanna say thank you to Bill who was an amazing friendly guy that never left the job until it was completed. He took all the mess with him and gave us an upfront reasonable price. We had 2 other quotes but these guys won the job since the price they had given us from the very beginning wasn't beatable by the other two firms. The plumber was well dressed and well equiped, I can tell by the work vehicle he rocked up in that they were very organised. He finished the job a little quicker then estimated so he knocked the price down a little more which he didn't have to. They defenitly won my business today and for next time. If you guys are concerned about which plumber to bring over for a quote, I definitely recommend you give this crew a go as I really thing they're well deserving of it. Thanks guys for taking the time to read my review and I hope you guys will have the same experience I did with these guys.

Shame we can't leave no stars. The way they've conducted business today doesn't warrant a single star. Get a price in writing before you approve ANY works from this business.

great service and price . he was clean and tidy . honest and reliable . I would highly recommend to anyone . thank you Plumbing Detectives .

DO NOT CALL THOSE PEOPLE IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY, they'll take complete advantage of your situation.
1. They charged us $1,200 for replacing a burst water hose, which was literally a 15 minute job.
2. Their plumber only mentioned that the quote is not inclusive of GST when we were about to pay and after the job was done.
3. He refused to break down the invoice into labour and materials and said they charge by the job not the hour!
4. After replacing the water hose he only tested the water flow, however he failed to turn the hot water back on. We called the company the following day about that, they said the plumber would call us back, never got back to us, we had to call the water heater company and they told us how to turn it back on in a very friendly manner and without charging us a cent.

Perfect job done by Henry. Very friendly and reasonable price. Would definitely recommend their service to family or friends.
