Is there a minimum stay over the peak periods?
Index
As with human accommodation, dog accommodation has a higher demand over peak and holiday periods and therefore, in most cases, minimum stay conditions will apply.
This could be a minimum two day stay on weekends or a one week stay over the Christmas-New Year period. So you will need to find a kennel which offers the length of stay you and your pet are looking for.
Peak Periods
Peak periods will exist over long weekends, school holidays, Easter, Christmas and during any local event that attracts visitors. If you are booking your dog or cat into a local facility, you will probably be aware of what events are coming up and when school holidays are. But if you are booking into an interstate facility remember that school holidays and public holidays can vary from state to state.
Cost
Some facilities will charge more during peak periods but others won’t vary their rates. Ensure when you make pricing enquiries that you give the dates you are interested in, to make sure correct information is given. Always remember that doggy accommodation books out over peak periods just like human accommodation. Avoid disappointment for you and your pet and make your bookings nice and early.
