Mr Emergency

Plumber still hasn’t arrived and it’s been over 24 hours with a mains water leak at a body corporate of 24 units so we can’t just turn the mains water off.

First told at 2:30pm that he would arrive between 3-6pm yesterday, then at 5:30pm told it would be 9am-12pm today instead, then a phone call at 11am saying they’re running late, then a text message at 3:40pm saying they are on their way. 5:30pm now and still not arrived. I called and was told “within the hour” but we’ll see!

Mr “Emergency” is a bit of a stretch - don’t advertise 30 min call outs if you can’t deliver. Very disappointed and won’t be using the service again.

They did excellent job. They were out the quickly and got my drain fixed! Very polite and helpful.

I had a new water heater and water conditioner installed last week. The people at Mr Emergency showed up on time and did an amazing job of installing both units, putting both where I wanted them.

The power went out in my kitchen last night, I called Mr Emergency at 8am and a technician came out by 10am, found the problem and got the power back on in 15 minutes. Great friendly service!

My technician arrived on time, was friendly, efficient, and was proficient with his skills and knowledge on how to handle our evaporative cooler.

I don't normally write reviews, but my experience with Mr Emergency was terrible so am putting in the effort this time.



My ducted air conditioner was not working, so I called Mr Emergency and explained my situation. They told me that the first step is to perform an air conditioner rejuvenation and that they could send someone out to quote the job. This incurred a high callout fee just for the quote. Due to restricted access in my ceiling cavity, they charged extra. However, I was at home throughout the job and found that they did very little work in the ceiling cavity and the cost was exorbitant. After the rejuvenation did not fix the air con, their troubleshooting indicated that there was a gas leak and so they quoted another job for that. Once I had already spent a lot of money with Mr Emergency to try to fix the air conditioner, I called a few other air con service companies and realized that I made a mistake by hiring them. They all provided quotes that were a lot less, said that it’s not necessary to do a “rejuvenation” – that the troubleshooting step should be done first, and they all advised me to stop any further work with Mr Emergency. I estimate that I spent over 10 times more using Mr Emergency than I would have if I choose any other contractor.



In summary, they were dishonest in advising me to get a rejuvenation instead of first trying to troubleshoot the problem. Their prices are also incredibly high, which they justify on the basis that they are a 24/7 on-call service. This is absolutely something to avoid unless you are genuinely in an emergency situation.
